The patient will fill out the necessary forms and the doctor will do a consultation, comprehensive health history and an examination. Treatment will typically begin on the first visit. However, this is dependent on history and examination findings. X-rays may or may not be required to start treatment also depending on the history and examination findings. During this process, the doctor will also determine if a referral for other health care services is needed.
How do you treat patients?
The treatment of choice is the manual chiropractic adjustment. In cases where this is not the best option, instrumented adjustments or low and non-force techniques may be used. The doctor also incorporates soft tissue therapies, physiotherapy modalities, nutritional counseling, supplementation, herbs, homeopathy, lifestyle alterations, rehab and exercise plans and other treatments depending on patient needs and preferences.
How long will it take to fix this?
Every case is unique. We strive to give our patients realistic time-frames in which to meet their goals. In general, acute injuries are treated more frequently at the onset of care. A typical case can expect to be treated for 8-15 visits over a period of two weeks to six months depending on the type and severity of the complaint. Once healthy, we encourage all patients to continue with regular maintenance care at a frequency appropriate to that individual's needs.
Why do you recomend more visits once I'm healthy?
An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. The best way to reduce the risk of future problems is through regular maintenance care. In most cases an office visit every 1-2 months is adequate. It's a small price to pay for the quality of life you deserve.
Do you work with other doctors?
Of course! Every doctor has his/her specialties. We recommend that patients see their other healthcare providers accordingly. Our goal is for the patient to get the best possible care.
Do you treat kids?
Absolutely! Kids are our favorite patients. Our doctor is well trained and highly experienced in treating children from birth to adulthood. Children generally respond more quickly to care and require fewer and less frequent visits than adults.
Do you treat all conditions?
Actually we don't treat any conditions. We treat the person who has the conditions. The body has a tremendous capacity to heal itself. Our job is to give the body what it needs, restore proper function to the nervous system and get out of the way.
Does what you do work on everyone?
What we do will bring any patient under our care to a state of increased health and wellness. Unfortunately, there are some conditions such as severe wounds, displaced fractures, failed or removed organs, severe infections, etc. which surpass the body's abilities to heal itself. In these cases, other forms of care are required. In our office, we call this a "house on fire" scenario. If you're curious what that means, ask us at your next appointment.
What are your fees for service?
Fees vary depending on factors such as your insurance plan and the services required. Supplements, homeopathy, ect. may also effect the cost. For a complete fee schedule, email us or come into the office.
How long does a treatment take?
An average office visit takes about 10-30 minutes. Depending on the type and severity of the case, more or less time may be required. The initial consultation and examination process generally takes 90 minutes. This time may vary greatly depending on the complexity of a given case.
Do you take insurance?
Yes, we work with several major carriers. However, not all insurance plans cover chiropractic care and the patient is ultimately responsible for all fees incurred.
